2026 Fall Show (Miss Holmes)

Vintage engraving showing a scene from 19th Century London England. Showing the Victoria Embankment at night.September 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 19, 20; 2026 – 2:00 pm.

Miss Holmes is a new Sherlock Holmes case with a very definite twist. In this deadly serious and thrilling story, Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson are intelligent, independent women in Victorian England. It is a time when society did not value those attributes, social class distinctions are explicitly set and any rebellion against social norms was not tolerated. But neither of these smart and brave women abides by the conventions of their time – to their peril. Instead, they forego domestic accomplishments in the pursuit of helping those, particularly women, in desperate need.

Auditions, callbacks, rehearsals and the show will be held entirely in Bremerton at the Kitsap Forest Theater and the Kitsap Yurt. We will be arranging a carpool from the Bremerton ferry to the Kitsap Forest Theater for any Seattle actors coming over for rehearsals. This Fall Classic production of Miss Holmes (by Christopher M Waltz) is directed by Mia McGlinn.

Oliver Logo new skyJuly 25, 26, August 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16 - 2026 - 2pm

Our summer show is timed so that college students can spend their summer rehearsing and performing with us and still return to school by the time many schools start in August. The show opens the end of July and runs for 4 weekends. The last performance weekend is usually two weeks before Labor Day.

Consider yourself at home with Lionel Bart's classic musical based on the Charles Dickens novel, Oliver Twist, last performed at the Kitsap Forest Theater in 2004. This well-crafted tale of love, hope and dreams engages audiences with its pathos and drama, while delighting everyone with its outstanding musical theater classics such as Food, Glorious Food, I’d Do Anything, Where is Love?, Consider Yourself, Who Will Buy and Reviewing the Situation. Oliver! is a musical theatre masterpiece, perfectly showcasing the talents of a large ensemble cast as they bring these classic characters and score to life.

Callbacks for Oliver! are Saturday, February 7, 2026 in Edmonds from 9am-2pm. Download Oliver! Audition Notice

Rehearsals start June 1st and are held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and include one Kitsap Saturday and three Kitsap weekend rehearsals (both Saturday and Sunday). Not everyone is called for every rehearsal. Download the full Oliver rehearsal schedule here.

Additional Rehearsal Information for Frozen & Oliver!

Weeknight rehearsals are held in Edmonds at a church basement near downtown (and walking distance from the ferry dock).

We have some weekend rehearsals at the theater in Bremerton (Saturday or Sunday or both days with an overnight stay possible).  Many actors choose to spend the night at the theater on Saturday night and enjoy the camaraderie of "hanging out" together at Kitsap Cabin where volunteer cooks prepare Saturday night dinner and Sunday breakfast and lunch. We encourage carpools and sharing commuter ferry passes to help with transportation costs.

It is our policy to carefully schedule rehearsals so that you are not called unless you are needed. Main characters can be expected to come to most rehearsals.

We have a "Survival Guide" with more information about rehearsing and staying at the Kitsap Forest Theater and information about The Mountaineers Players. Download our 2026 guide here.

Cast Comments

"Honestly, I had no idea what I was getting into when I agreed to Oklahoma! When the Kitsap Forest Theater advertises that you will rehearse in the rain and mud, they mean it. What they don't explain is that you will be having such a fantastic and magical time that you will never want to work in an indoor theater again. Rehearsing and performing in an outdoor space has changed the way I view my work as an actor. Come to Kitsap and you will see that the space itself is alive and it supports the very essence of every production. This should be the value of every set for every actor, however it is hard to remember that when working in indoor, artificially constructed spaces."

"Beyond the physical differences between Kitsap and other theaters, is the manner in which your cast becomes a family. Living together on the property during rehearsal and performance weekends, you build relationships impossible in traditional rehearsal settings." from blog post by Sylvie May, Laurie in Oklahoma!, spring 2011

Kitsap Forest Theater is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all individuals and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation in any of its activities or productions, including the participation of staff, volunteers, and performing artists.
