The Kitsap Forest Theater was alive with the world’s most beloved musical, The Sound of Music. This final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein features a trove of cherished songs, including "Climb Ev'ry Mountain," "My Favorite Things," "Do Re Mi," "Sixteen Going on Seventeen," "Edelweiss" and the title number, "The Sound of Music". The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars.

The production team of Trina Williamson, Linda Kappus, and Laura McFalane returned to do the Spring show after just completing last year's Summer show Bend in the Road.

There were some interesting casting things which happened this show.

Two actresses who 'grew up' as teenagers at the Forest Theater finally shared the stage. Jasmine Harrick and Ila Dreessen had shared the lead role of Jo in our 2021 production of Little Women, but had never actually been on stage at the same time. Jasmine was cast as Liesl, while Ila was Maria. In an odd serendipty, Ila had played Liesl in our previous staging of the show.

Another coincidence was that Reeve Walters played Gretl, then same role as her eldest sister had played previously.

Oliver Girouard played Rolf against Jasmine's Liesl. They had been several other shows together.
