Written as a jubilant celebration, Godspell tells the story of the birth of a new community. The Godspell characters bring the parables of Matthew to life using song, dance, and improvisational comedy and features an exhilarating score by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) which includes such songs as “Day By Day,” “Save the People” and “All Good Gifts.” Overflowing with irrepressible energy, this classic favorite appeals to all with a message of hope that resonates just as deeply as the music.
The Players tried something different with this show – a truly collaborative show for actors and production staff alike. 
For the first time, we had two out-of-town actors (graduated college friends of Music Director, Amy Beth Lindvall Nolte) come to Seattle for the summer to be in this show. Paired with talented local actors, the ensemble became a tight-knit group who enjoyed exploring the subtleties in this script.
Guy Caridi returned as choreographer, and Olivia Hickerson gathered a band to provide the rollicking music for the show. Will Gray and Scott Baker were the set designers/builders and Lina Brown, a talented high school student, did the costumes with help and support from Mary Duckering. Marcus Hickerson was the sound designer. We had a new director from outside the Players community.
In his capacity of choreographer, Guy Caridi showed especially strong leadership during this show. Many in the cast were quite impressed with his quiet, confident and gentle leadership style.
