Kitsap Forest Theater / The Mountaineers Players

The Mountaineer Players is possibly the oldest "community" theater under its original charter in the United States. What began as skits and mock sword fights has grown into an annual production that takes place in the Kitsap Forest Theater. Since our first rehearsed production, Robin of Sherwood, in 1923, the Players have presented a show every spring coinciding with our blooming wild rhododendrons. This tradition has been unbroken except during 1943-1946 when World War II interrupted the productions. Hundreds of people from actors and directors to ticket sellers and ushers band together to make each production a memorable one.
